KRISHNACHURA-ECO RESORT-2020

“KRISHNACHURA” IS AN ECO RESORT WITH A FARMHOUSE IN CUMILLAH, BANGLADESH. IT IS AN EXPERIMENT OF LOCAL MATERIAL FAMOUSLY KNOWS AS “MUD OF CUMILLAH” AS BUILDING CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL. WE HAVE USED MUD, BAMBOO AND THATCH ROOF TO SET UP THE LOCAL CONTEXT AND MAKE IT SUSTAINABLE FROM ALL ASPECTS. THE RESORT HAS TWO PARTS. ONE IS FOR ACCOMMODATION AND OTHER PART IS FOR RELAXATION AND DINE IN. THE SOUTH IS MORE OPEN TO ENSURE THE MAXIMUM BENEFIT FROM ENVIRONMENT. THE GROUND IS AS MUCH AS OPEN FOR VENTILATION AND SUNLIGHT. BAMBOO AND WOOD HAS BEEN USED AS STRUCTURAL ELEMENT FOR THE BUILDING.  HERE A NATURAL ECO SYSTEM HAS BEEN INTRODUCED BY DESIGN WITH USING LOCAL MATERIAL. THE INTERIOR IS ALSO RAW LIKE THE EXTERIOR. ALL THE FURNITURE IS MADE FROM LOCAL WOOD. TO RESPECT THE CLIMATIC CONSIDERATION WE HAVE USED THICK MUD WALL WHICH WILL GIVE COOL TEMPERATURE EVEN IN EXTREME SUMMER CONDITION. THERE IS A WATER BODY TO THE SOUTH TO MAKE THE AIR COOLER WHEN IT FLOWS AND ENTER TO THE BUILDING. THIS IS AN EXPERIMENTAL PROJECT TO MAKE THE BUILDING MORE SUSTAINABLE.
